Mer de Glace

On Sunday, we visited La Mer de Glace, the glacier of Mount Blanc. We had to take a train up the mountain, then we took a cable car and went down 400 stairs to descend into the ice cave. Along the stairs there are signs which indicate where the glacier used to reach in 1980, 1990, and 2000. Of course after we had to climb up all 400 stairs and take the cable car back up where we visited a cystal cave exhibit and the Alpine Galerie which showcases animals of the mountain. Once we decsended the mountain again by train we spent some time shopping, watching street preformers and enjoying beautiful Chamonix.

Ce dimanche, on a visité La Mer de Glace, au pied du Mont-Blanc. On a pris un train pour monter dans la montagne et puis on a pris le télécabine et on a descendu les 400 marches afin d'àrriver à la grotte de glace. Le long des escaliers, il y a des signes qui montrent où le glacier était en 1980, 1990, et 2000. Bien sûr, après on a remonté les 400 marches avant de reprendre le télécabine. On a visité la galerie des cristaux et la galerie Alpine qui montre des animaux de la montagne(chamois, bouquetins, marmottes, oiseaux...). Après être redescendu en train, on a visité Chamonix pour faire du shopping et regarder les artistes du rue.
